Dating - Which Family To Visit For The Holidays

Deciding Which Family to Visit During the Holidays

Holidays are a time when the family comes together and celebrates. When you have two people with close families as well as different traditions, it can be a major strain on a relationship. Here are some tips on how to enjoy the holidays without leaving either part of the family left out.

Most people come to the easy conclusion of celebrating the holidays at their home and inviting both families for the festivities. This is a great way to bring both families together. Although it may be hectic at times, it beats leaving one of the families out in the cold. Another solution is to celebrate one part of the holiday with one family and the other part with the other. For instance, spending Christmas Eve with one family and Christmas Day with the

other. If one of your parents lives far away, you might visit every other year or have them come to your home for the holidays.

The worst thing to do is completely remove yourself from ones families traditions. There may be times that you are unable to make a family gathering. Make sure you contact your family by phone before the event. It is also good to call that person on the holiday to express your love for them and how you would like to be together.
